Team Mopane visiting cheetah on Thursday

This Thursday, two of our team members, Axel and Brigitte, will be visiting the cheetahs for the first time to get them ready for the translocation to Mapesu Private Game Reserve. We are all excited about the upcoming translocation and partnering with the Endangered Wildlife Trust’s Cheetah Meta Population Project.

We will be doing a live stream from tomorrow morning on our Facebook page to show you how the translocation process works, so if you’re interested in seeing how our two boys will be darted and moved to their new home or you have any questions for our team members, make sure to tune in.

Unfortunately the translocation of cheetah comes with many challenges and the survival rate for cheetahs in these situations can be as low as 50%. Luckily the team on the ground consists of experienced individuals who will do everything in their power to ensure the safety of the two cheetah brothers.
