The rains have returned to the parched Limpopo Valley bringing forth an eruption of new life on Mapesu. Many of the antelope species have begun lambing and calving. Huge nursery herds of impala can be seen in the North-western as well as South-eastern section of the Reserve.
A game count was conducted on September 2nd, 2014 howewever for full details visit the Shared Universe Ventures website covering this same topic which list in greater details in the January issue.
Zebra, waterbuck, blue wildebeest, oryx, impala, eland, kudu, giraffe, bushbuck, warthog, jackals, giraffe, kudu, eland, bat-eared foxes and so forth are currently in the reserve. And for 2016 we will be introducing new species into the Mapesu Private Game Reserve where Mopane is located increasing the total to 834 animals reside.
