Mapesu Conservation Drive

During the conservation drive you will be introduced to the ‘behind-the-scenes’ conservation operations that make Mapesu Private Game Reserve tick. Learn about the conservation management of the reserve and the daily duties ranging from bush clearing, erosion control and anti-poaching to stocking control and fence maintenance.

Set up a camera trap with your guide and find out what came past! Whilst enjoying being out in the bush, you will leave this unique experience with a better understanding of conservation of our beautiful flora and fauna.

Mapesu Walking Safari

Put on your walking shoes and join us for a guided walk to stretch your legs and get an immersive experience in the African bush. Appreciate the peace of being in touch with nature.

On foot you are able to experience all what the bush has to offer without being limited to the boundaries of a vehicle. We get the chance to focus on the smaller things in life. You will gain environmental awareness through listening, noticing and interpreting everything that is going on around you.

It is incredibly special to have the opportunity to walk where wildlife as big as the African Elephant leave their ancient footprints. We have experienced guides that know, and understand the bush very well, and will be able to offer you an once in a lifetime experience on foot.

Endangered Wildlife Tracking

The aim of this exciting activity is to locate the animals through the use of telemetry, technology and old-fashioned tracking. It will include both mobile and on-foot tracking while accompanied by an experienced guide.

This experience will leave you with a deeper understanding of the different endangered species we have at Mapesu. We want to make sure we continue to protect these species and offer them a safe place to roam freely.
