DAY 1

  • Leave Johannesburg by road in the morning and arrive at Mopane Bush Lodge in the early afternoon
  • Afternoon tea to discuss programme and interests
  • An afternoon bush drive or sunset drive on Mapesu Private Game Reserve
  • Sundowners in the lapa by the pool
  • Evening dinner in the dining room

DAY 2

  • Coffee & rusks at 06h15
  • A morning tour of Mapungubwe Hill and World Heritage Site led by South African
  • National Parks guides
  • A visit to the Hamilton baobab on the way back to the lodge
  • Brunch at Mopane Bush Lodge
  • Relax at the lodge around the pool, in your chalet, or in the lounge until tea
  • After tea take a trip back to the Mapungubwe National Park to walk the boardwalk in the riverine forest to a hide overlooking the Limpopo River
  • Walk up to the viewpoint at the confluence of two great rivers of Africa – the Shashe & Limpopo Rivers, and see Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa in one panorama
  • Evening dinner in the boma under stars around the fire

DAY 3

  • Before breakfast be taken by our guide to view some unique and spectacular
  • Limpopo Valley San Rock Art, painted up to 4000 years ago, complete with interpretation
  • Brunch at the lodge in the dining room
  • Relax until afternoon tea
  • Go on a game drive to the Maloutswa Hide to check out the elephants, other game and birds that come to the waterhole
  • Evening dinner in the boma under stars around the fire

DAY 4

  • An early morning walk to a hide at the dam or a cycle
  • A leisurely breakfast before departure
